Our family usually enjoys discount motels, and normally we don't mind the minor irregularities like missing towel bars or tub/sink plugs. I'd love to write a positive review, because I did find the staff warm and friendly, and we did enjoy our stay in Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, until the management can correct the numerous structural, sanitation, and cosmetic issues; I cannot. The lobby of this motel is very nice and the hot breakfast and the heated pool were the best part of our stay. The price seemed good at the time of booking with Booked.net. We prepaid about $475 for 2 adjoining rooms for 4 nights on the second floor (including all fees and taxes). We thought we'd be quite comfortable because we'd each have our own bed, but in the future we will simple pay for one room at a more reputable establishment. Only after purchasing the non-refundable rooms did I read the terrible reviews. I phoned the hotel to enquire about the possibility of bedbugs, and they assured me that there were none, and I felt reassured. When I arrived, the manager brought up my concerns and told me that some unhappy customers wrote the reviews because they were angry that they couldn't get their money back. Again I felt reassured. I had no difficulty with the management, since we had decided to make the best out of our stay. We loved the Falls, Marineland, the Oh Canada Dinner Show, and all the wonderful people we met.
The room was spacious with high ceilings, but dirty and rough around the edges (broken door frame, hole in wall, exposed electrical, large gaps in baseboards). I could feel sand underfoot and our sheets felt sandy too. I never complained about this, so I don't know how the staff would have handled it. Honestly, I wondered if the sheets had been washed after the last guests. My daughter and I enjoyed the heated pool even though we watched our bathing suites fade before our eyes, and our long hair suffered badly from the chlorine and hard water. The hot tub was emptied for most of our stay due to overheating. The sliding doors to the outdoor pool had broken handles, and the wooden steps to the outdoor pool area were rotten and broken. On the second morning, my daughter was complaining of bug bites on her hands, and my husband was complaining about being itchy. By the third day my daughter was breaking out into hives and in need of Benadryl. We don't know if this was caused by the chlorine or by BEDBUGS. On the last morning my hands were covered in bites. Since we wore full length bed clothes with socks (to avoid contact with the dirty sheets), it makes sense that our hands were bitten. Although we never actually saw any bedbugs, I did see what may have been "fecal spots" and we are taking every precaution now that we are home. Today my bites are still red and very itchy. I do believe we just survived our first bedbug encounter. TIP: I would caution anyone who is prepaying for a stay here. When it comes to this place, leave your options open. If you have already prepaid, come prepared with sleeping bags, anti-itch cream, Benadryl, really good conditioner, and a broom. Leave your favorite bathing suit at home, and make the best of it. It is always more about the people than the place anyway.
We liked the price as we were on a strict budget and it was also nice to have an indoor pool as well as an outside one. It was convienent to shopping for the most part. The staff were friendly and did help when needed.
Housekeeping seemed to be poor if you were there longer than a night.
I had been to Niagara Falls several times but stay at Niagara Lodge was wonderful. Located in beautiful Niagara Falls region, Niagara Lodge and Suites is the ideal hotel - I was looking for to enjoy. I liked everything, best value for money!
I have no complaints at all. Completely satisfied.
The prices was the only good things.
in side the room
the breakfast was a little bet good .the eggs was sooooo bad
Not much at this visit
I have been to Niagara Lodge and Suites many times and have enjoyed the stay, clean rooms, quiet. This time the room was so messy and dirty, my husband and I did not even use the shower. We found the room to be very outdated and run down. Was very disappointed. Could hear every single step from the room above us. Not enjoyable at all. We had room #116
Heart shaped whirlpool continental breakfast comfortable bed
The noise from the room above sounded like a bowling alley. Need better sound insulation. There was blood on the bathroom ceiling and the woodwork was dirty. The cable tv was blurry.
Amaising price value. The Staff was nice as well as the breakfast.
More cleanliness is required in the room.
The staff are very friendly and eager to help in any way. I like this place because of the location, price, pool and the staff.
The hot tub was not working.
There was NOT a whole lot to like. I will NEVER stay there again.
The indoor pool was freezing, the hot tub was only lukewarm...and that was after the desk had to turn the heat to it on at all. The room was dirty, the heat hardly worked...the hot water only lasted 5 min. for showers. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Suited our last minute checkout of another hotel very quickly. Not a high class property by ok. Rooms very outdated and in need of serious tlc. Paint mostly. Edges of carpet were not vacuumed very well. Brown spots that looked like someone flung poop onto the ceiling.
Quite, good value for your money
Hole in ceiling over shower. Jacuzzi tub not cleaned very well. Advertised microwave in room, did not have one.
You got what you paid for at this hotel. It was a budget hotel, but sheets were clean and bathroom was clean.
You get what you pay for. Hotel is in need of repairs and renovations, but for $ 30 it was okay for one night.
Very friendly staff..
Pool was dirty, Dining room needed the tables and floors washed.
Manager did upgrade room at no extra cost due to A/C malfunction of original room. Manager was considerate and friendly.
Sheets did not fit king size bed. They used sheet size for full size. Paint drippings on chairs. Very noisy place. Shower did not work properly.
